If It's Still You, That's Okay, Right?
You are still kept safe in the depths of my soul, still folded neatly into its innermost corner. I'm sure I'm not truly done with you. It's as if you still have a space of your own, free to drift wherever you like inside me.
Among all the names and faces I meet these days, I have never found you. That is why, once again, this piece of writing is never truly finished either. You keep turning into a longing that has yet to take the shape of a reunion.
I still hope you are truly real, and not just a fairy tale living in my thoughts. I still miss that little laugh of yours and those beautiful eyes narrowing as you smile. That little laugh always sounded so warm. It's what I heard whenever we hung out with the rest of our friends.
You are still waiting in line on the pages of my prayers. I still say your name, soft and pleading. I never ask for more, only that we be brought together again, somehow.
Every time I try to replace your name, I fail. Again and again, I end up keeping you in the deepest part of my heart. That is how hard it is for me to cross you out, let alone erase you. You always find your way back from some corner of my mind I never knew existed.
