I Miss You
How do you deliver longing to someone you never had the chance to reach?
It would be such a lie to say I don't miss you. The whole ocean of my memories of you is still vivid in my mind. The waves may wash them away again and again, but the hermit crab's footprints always write them back.
I can't wait to hear your beautiful stories from the South. After all these years, all I've had is a fourteen-second glimpse of you on a screen. Maybe that's all I'll ever know about how happy you are over there. Tell me all about it someday, okay?
I still know that warm laugh and that adorable nose by heart. And your eyes, narrowing as they paint a rainbow over the calm of our meeting. I miss how beautiful you are when you walk and when you talk. It would be such a lie to say I don't love you. If I didn't, why would I have waited this long?
Once again, I miss you. When are you coming home?
